Pattaya weather by month: high season and rainy season
Pattaya has no winter in the usual sense: daytime temperatures are around thirty all year. What sets the months apart is the rain. We took the long-term normals of the Thai Meteorological Department for the Pattaya station and broke them down by month, so you know when to come and what to expect.

In short
- The driest months are December to February: 2 to 3 rainy days a month.
- September and October are the wettest: around 16 to 17 rainy days.
- Daytime 30 to 33 °C all year, nights 23 to 27 °C.

Three seasons
- Cool, mid-October to mid-February. "Cool" in Thai terms: about 30 °C by day, 23 to 24 °C at night, little rain. This is high season, the time for holidays and winter stays.
- Hot, mid-February to mid-May. April is the hottest month, up to 33 °C by day. Still not much rain.
- Rainy, mid-May to mid-October. Rain comes more often, peaking in September and October. Even in October about half the days are dry.

When to come
- On holiday: November to March; the driest months are December to February.
- For the winter: November to March. Note that visa-free entry is now 30 days; longer options are in The DTV and wintering in Thailand.
- Cheaper and quieter: May to October. In low season there are fewer tourists, and hotels and rentals are usually more affordable.
Weather and buying a condo
Viewing condos in the rainy season is actually useful. You see straight away how the building copes with a downpour: no puddles at the entrance, how the drainage works around the pool and car park, whether water gets onto the balcony. We give this advice to everyone choosing a resale unit.
If you are buying off-plan, check how the contract sets out the completion date and what happens if it slips. How to choose a district is covered in Pattaya districts.
