Pattaya with kids: where to live, what to do and healthcare
With kids, Pattaya turns into a different city: water parks, islands, a tropical garden, long beaches and quiet districts with a pool in the courtyard. Here is where it is easier to live as a family, where to go at weekends and how doctors and insurance work.

In short
- Families most often choose Jomtien, Na Jomtien and East Pattaya, closer to the international schools.
- For kids: the Ramayana and Aquaverse water parks, Nong Nooch Garden, Koh Larn island, Khao Kheow zoo.
- Bangkok Hospital Pattaya has interpreters in more than 20 languages, Russian included.
Where to live as a family
- Jomtien. A long beach, a promenade for walks, cafés and shops nearby. Many condos with pools and kids' areas; more in Jomtien.
- Na Jomtien. Quieter and more spacious, closer to Nong Nooch and the water parks.
- East Pattaya. Houses and villas with gardens, closer to the international schools, though you drive to the sea; more in East Pattaya.
When choosing a unit, look beyond the view: a kids' pool, a playground, a secure compound and a school run without traffic all matter.

Doctors
Pattaya has several private hospitals that treat foreigners. Bangkok Hospital Pattaya has an interpreter service in more than 20 languages, including Russian, and a Russian version of its website. There is also the public Banglamung Hospital.

Insurance
A family with children needs insurance anyway: private healthcare in Thailand is good but not cheap. For some visas it is mandatory:
- O-A retirement visa: cover of at least $100,000 or 3,000,000 ฿ for the whole stay.
- Thailand Privilege: no insurance is required at application, but it is still worth having.
Which visa suits a long stay is covered in The DTV and wintering in Thailand and Residency and visas.
Schools and kindergartens
In and around Pattaya there are several international schools with British curricula and the IB, taking children from age 2 or younger. Fees and curricula are compared in International schools in Pattaya.
Natalia will help you choose a school or kindergarten for your child's age and budget, arrange a visit and a trial day, and if you are looking for a home, find an area and a condo nearby.
